I particularly like the verse at the start of the post, makes me think of the innumerable times she went back to the woods during the project (N, T, good worker, EATBF film.), but doesn't always feel good about it! food for thought.
this is a bop! i don't know what it's doing outside of the top 30. interestingly enough, this is not registered as a 'mouth of a river' track, and i couldn't find the exact date it was composed but i'm inclined to believe it was around BLUE. Released: june 2020 | artist: ionnalee | album: KRONOLOGI i really can't wait for her to finally perform some of these songs live! the verses are tight and slightly uncomfortable, as if trying to find a groove, and the chorus opens it all up with a soaring melody that sounds like going right up to the highest point of a roller coaster and then being gently let back down instead of crossing that threshold, it's very nice. which brings me to this being another sad sex anthem! the lyrics paint some gorgeous mental imagery.
the only time i recognize her by herself is at the " where nothing can grow my salty rivers flow" part. i always forget this has a feature, because this girl's voice just blends together very well with jonna's.
